NATIONAL SUMMERTIME PACK AWARD What an easy and fun
award to earn! The National Summertime Pack Award is given to
packs that conduct a pack activity in June, July and August.
After your August activity, simply complete and return the application,
which can be found on the council website at www.tecumsehcouncilbsa.org
under links/forms/Summertime Pack Award.
SCHOOL NIGHT FOR SCOUTING We are so excited for the
fall hundreds of new boys and their families w ill join
the Scouting program. Please make plans to be at the program
kickoff , we w ill have a session on School Night for Scouting.
Were going to do some things the same and some things differently.
Having sign ups held at the schools w ill be important this year.
Parents are comfortable going somewhere they are familiar with
and w hat better place than their sons school! Theyre
not getting one flier this year - theyre getting tw o!

program kickoff!
CHILLICOTHE DISTRICT FALL CAMPOREE Scout Troops will
want to put September 26-28, 2008 on their calendars!! These
are the dates for what is promising to be a very exciting fall
camporee!! The staff members and students from Wright State University
have volunteered to run the fall camporee featuring a First Aid
theme!! Our very own Venture Crews will support these volunteers!!
The camporee will be held at Camp Birch and all participants
(Scouts and Adult Scouters) will be asked to pay $10 per person.
Any camping fees for the weekend will be separate from this charge
- make your reservation with the scout office today! All meals
will be at individual campsites. For more information, see the
district website.

Camp Birch, 17 - 19 October, 2008. Celebrates 10th anniversary
of Venturing
PROGRAM KICKOFF DATE. Please have your calendars marked
for Thursday, August 7, 2008. Program Kickoff is a meeting that
every troop and pack must attend.

Project C.O.P.E. at Camp Birch for 2008-2009 C.O.P.E.
is the Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience (C.O.P.E.) program
of the Boy Scouts of America. COPE is an excellent program for
teenage youth and adults. Low COPE and combined low and high
COPE events can be tailored to your units goals and objectives
for things such as Troop Leader Training, teen or adult leader
retreats, high adventure crew team building, and/or fit within
any weekend outing at Camp Birch. [click
