SEARCH FOR EAGLES UNDERWAY - An effort to renew a Council
chapter of the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) is underway
now. Eagles living in the five-county area that makes up Tecumseh
Council are invited to renew their commitment to service to Scouting
by registering as a member of this national organization for
Eagle Scouts. Registration and membership information is available
at the Council Service Center or at www.nesa.org. For details
about local activities, please contact Eric Jones at ej1969@ameritech.net
CAMP GEAR SWAP MEET PLANNED. A chance to swap or shop
camping gear is planned for May 24, 2008 at Camp Birch from 10
am to noon. If you have used camping gear or Scout gear that
you no longer need, bring the stuff you want to swap or sell.
If you wish to reserve a space to sell or swap, call the Service
Center at (937) 325-6449 by May 10th to hold your spot. If you
have things to contribute to benefit Camp Birch contact Herb
Finke at (937) 390-6351 to arrange pickup or drop off at camp.

2008, Camp Birch. - Spanning the globe to bring you the constant

Tecumseh Council's Wide World of Scouting Camporall on May 16th
thru 18th, 2008, at Camp Birch! Details are on the council website

NATIONAL SUMMERTIME PACK AWARD What an easy and fun
award to earn! The National Summertime Pack Award is given to
packs that conduct a pack activity in June, July and August.
After your August activity, simply complete and return the application,
which can be found on the council website at www.tecumsehcouncilbsa.org
under links/forms/Summertime Pack Award.
MEMORIAL DAY CUB FAMILY CAMPOUT NEW!!!
Come to our Memorial Day Cub Family Campout at Camp
Birch, May 23-25, 2008. The fee is $20 for a family of four,
and includes use of pool, lakefront and camp tents. Additional
people over age five are $5. Bring and cook your own food and
we will supply your firewood. Walk-ins are welcome and you can
register your family at the council office.
Tecumseh Council Recognition Dinner,
7 June 2008 at Camp Birch. The Chillicothe District Recognition
Dinner is being held on Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Xenia Masonic
Center. All Scouts and Leaders are invited to attend! The cost
is $15 per person and we ask that you pre-register with the council
office prior to the dinner. Thank you to Tom Shultz and John
Smilek for coordinating the awards and dinner!
PIRATE ADVENTURE AT CUB SCOUT DAY CAMP Dates: June
23rd thru 27th, 2008 Cost: $85 Early Bird if paid by May 15th
after May 15th the fee is $100 Arrrrrrr!!!!!!!!! Here be the
tellin' of tall tales, enjoyin mischief and mayhem, and
huntin for a bag or two of treasure. Should ye find yerself
aground on the shore of Camp Birch, there are a few things to
know before settin' afoot in our den of briny buccaneers... Applications
for our young pirates should be sent in quickly to reserve your
spot on the ship. We have plenty of exciting activities planned
as you step on the deck. Archery and BB guns will test your shooting
skills. Splash in our pool or cool off while rowing boats on
our lake. Much more fun awaits you at our Pirate Adventure! A
parent or guardian can accompany a Cub Scout free of charge and
experience being a kid again. Please indicate on the registration
form that a parent or guardian will be attending. All Cubs receive
a free camp shirt and patch. Parents can pre-order a camp shirt
for $10 on the registration form. Camp Birch is a beautiful camp
that offers a multitude of opportunities to view nature at its
best. The staff at Camp Birch are kid-oriented, creative individuals
who work year long to bring your Cub precious memories! Day Camp
schedule runs daily from 9 am to 4:15 pm, Monday through Friday.
Early check-in (recommended) is from noon until 6 pm on June
21st. Regular check-in begins on Monday at 8 am. Program operates
rain or shine. Units must provide at least one adult leader for
every five youth, with a minimum of two adults. A promotional
brochure about all of our Cub Camps was mailed to each Cub Scout
at the end of April. Dont miss this exciting Pirate Adventure!!!
WEBELOS RESIDENT CAMP Webelos Resident Camp is a great
opportunity for Scouts, their parents, and their leaders to enjoy
a camping experience, get a jump start on earning activity pins,
and have lots of fun! Webelos Resident Camp is specifically targeted
for Scouts who will be entering 4th or 5th grade in the fall.
Activities will be more challenging than those at Cub Scout Day
Camp. Important dates: May 15th - Last day for Early Bird
Registration May 19th - Last day for Workership Applications
June 9th - Last day to register for Webelos Camp
June 29th thru July 2nd - Webelos Camp! The Early Bird fee is
$135 and regular cost is $145. Fees include: Webelos Scout
and parent One t-shirt and patch for each Webelos (adults
may purchase a shirt for $10) All meals, tents, and program
supplies
