Luke 1:26-38
The Birds and the Bees and a Thing Called God
And Now a Word from Our Sponsor ...

"Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word." An example of extreme faith! For Luke and Matthew, Jesus is God's son at his conception through the Holy Spirit and Mary, thus the story begins with his birth. This is earlier than for the writer of Mark, where it was at the beginning of Jesus' public ministry, specifically at his baptism, where God pronounces him his son. None-the-less, Mary models the proper response to a request from God (aka say yes).
