The Twelve Years of TCDC

On the first year of Christmas, my true love sent to me a reindeer on a golf course (2003)

On the second year of Christmas, my true love sent to me two Kittens' mittens (2004)

On the third year of Christmas, my true love sent to me three fat Santas (2005)

On the fourth year of Christmas, my true love sent to me four Night-lights (2006)

On the fifth year of Christmas, my true love sent to me five Jedi Masters (2007)

On the sixth year of Christmas, my true love gave to me six strings (of lights) a-tangled (2008)

On the seventh year of Christmas, my true love gave to me seven Souped-up Sleighes (2009)

On the eighth year of Christmas, my true love gave to me eight giant stockings (2010)

On the ninth year of Christmas, my true love gave to me nine Haz Mat Suits (2011)

On the tenth year of Christmas, my true love gave to me ten Cavemen Shopping (2012)

On the eleventh year of Christmas, my true love gave to me eleven cars for Hillbillies (2013)

On the twelfth year of Christmas, my true love gave to me twelve drones a-flying (2014), ..., eleven cars for Hillbillies, ten Cavemen Shopping, nine Haz Mat Suits, eight giant stockings, seven Souped-up Sleighes, six strings (of lights) a-tangled, Five Jedi Masters, Four Night-lights, three fat Santas, two Kittens' mittens and a reindeer on a golf course.

Twas the Night Before TCDC ...

'Twas the Night before TCDC, when all through the web site,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a dust mite;

The stockings were hung by the monitor with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

The cartoonists were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of bright pixels burned in their heads;
And Emu in her 'kerchief, and Bear in his cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
Miller sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window went Jose like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to Miller's eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tangled reindeer!

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
He knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than beagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
Santa and his sleigh on the new-fallen snow
"Now, Boley! now, Diesslin! now, Perno and Villena!
On, Pohrer! on Pitchford! on, Tomaselli, and Delgado!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As dry heaves that before too much wild turkey will fly,
When they meet with a cartoonist, whose clearely not dry,
So up to the house-top the drones they flew,
With a sack full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a inkling, we heard from this feller,
The buzzing and whirring of each little propeller.
As we hid behind the curtain afraid of the sight,
Down the chimney a drone came with a light.

It was covered in fur, from its stern to its bow,
All red and white as if it were St. Nick coming down now;
A bundle of toys hung down from the drone,
Looking quite odd against the hearth made of stone.

The lights -- how they twinkled! The runners how merry!
With a canopy dome that looked like a cherry!

On the roof meanwhile St. Nick on his sleigh,
Worked the controls as though he were at play;

The stump of a stylus he held is his teeth,
as he did drone patterns shaped like a wreath;

Once done by the fire he moved to lawn,
Where the Bobs were waiting well before dawn.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And the worms laughed when they saw him, in spite of themselves;
A wink of his eye and big efforts to squirm,
But it was still impossible to get to the worms;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled up the mini-drones; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of the controls,
And giving a nod, it went down the wormhole he chose!

Then it was time to take care of the Zombies,
Whom impatiently waited outside the Ambercombies.
Lum and Abner waited as well, with pitchfork and torch and shotgun do tell;
But the Zombies were peaceful if just for this night,
So they all enjoyed their presents without a fight!

Once that was done he sprang to his sleigh, and then gave a whistle,
And away they all flew as though Onion and Pea had sat on a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"HAPPY TCDC TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!"
